Alaine Hippee, an iBio (Integrated Biology) Graduate Program student, received an Outstanding Teaching Assistant Award for 2019-20 from the Council on Teaching at the University of Iowa.

The letter sent to Hippee by Dr. Thomas J. Schmidt, Chair of the Council on Teaching, had the following to say about her teaching:

"Your philosophy of teaching and learning, your classroom evaluations, and the strong support you garnered from students and faculty, made your nomination stand out from among the many superb candidates and clearly demonstrated your excellence in teaching. While your students have known of your skill and devotion for some time, I am pleased that your accomplishments are being formally recognized by the University."

Hippee, a member of the Forbes Lab in the Department of Biology, is pursuing her PhD in Integrated Biology.

Congratulations Alaine!
