The following graduate students in the Department of Biology have recently successfully defended their theses–Josh Thompson, Kailey Cash, Adam Hefel, and Shelley Lee.

Congratulations to Josh Thompson on his successful thesis defense on Monday, April 19, 2021! The title of his thesis was "Centrosomal Regulation of the C. elegans Beta-catenin SYS-1 is Mediated by Microtubule Motors." Josh is a PhD student in the iBio (Integrated Biology) Graduate Program. His mentor is Dr. Bryan Phillips in the Department of Biology.

Congratulations to Kailey Cash on her successful thesis defense on Thursday, April 15, 2021! The title of her thesis was "Recruitment and dynamics of DNA repair proteins at sites of complex DNA damage within the Caenorhabditis elegans germline." Kailey is a PhD student in the iBio (Integrated Biology) Graduate Program. Her mentor is Dr. Sarit Smolikove in the Department of Biology.

Congratulations to Adam Hefel on his successful thesis defense on Friday, April 9, 2021! The title of his thesis was "RPA complexes and tool development for the study of DSB repair in the Caenorhabditis elegans germline." Adam is a PhD student in the Interdisciplinary Graduate Program in Genetics. His mentor is Dr. Sarit Smolikove in the Department of Biology.

Congratulations to Shelley Lee on her successful thesis defense on Thursday, April 8, 2021! The title of her thesis was "The Role of Brain Macrophages in Hypertension Response Sensitization." Shelley is a Master’s student in the iBio (Integrated Biology) Graduate Program. Her mentor is Dr. Michael Dailey in the Department of Biology.
