The UI Department of Biology "Hawkeyes at the Microscope" was at the College of Liberal Arts & Sciences Open House event as part of the overall University of Iowa's OnIowa welcoming activities for new and returning students. This event was held in a new location at Hubbard Park (next to the Iowa Memorial Union) on Friday, August 21, 2015, from 1:00 - 3:00pm. We had a great time with students spinning a prize wheel and answering questions about Biology with the opportunity to win great prizes, such as UI Department of Biology t-shirts, water bottles, cups, and drawstring bags. We also had the bean bag toss game available for students to play and win prizes. Biology staff and advisors were also on hand to answer questions about the undergraduate program in Biology as well as representatives from the UI BIO (Biological Interests Organization) student organization.
