Exploring Careers in Biosciences

All students interested in exploring career and internship opportunities in biology and the life sciences are invited to attend the “Exploring Careers in Biosciences” event on Thursday, Sept. 13 in the Iowa Memorial Union (IMU). 

*Beginning at 6:00pm in the IMU 2nd Floor Ballroom, the event will feature keynote speaker, Susan MacIntosh, President and founder of MacIntosh & Associates, Inc., a consulting company focused on biosafety compliance services. Susan has over 20 years of executive and managerial experience in biotechnology and 20+ years of laboratory research experience. She is a University of Iowa alumna with a B.A. degree in Zoology and a minor in Chemistry. 

*At approximately 6:30pm, students will have the opportunity to interact with employers about various career and internship opportunities in the biosciences. Integrated DNA Technologies (IDT) headquartered in nearby Coralville and other employers and graduate/professional school representatives will be in attendance.

*A networking prep session on how to interact with employers will be offered prior to this event beginning at 5:30pm (check-in at the 2nd Floor Ballroom lobby).

*All students are also invited to a question & answer session (and FREE PIZZA) with Susan MacIntosh on Friday, Sept. 14 at 11:30am in Room 106 Biology Building East (BBE). This will be informal and a great opportunity for you to personally meet Ms. MacIntosh and ask questions related to her career, education, and experiences.
