FACS-Melody cell sorting  

The CCG staff will perform cell sorting on Monday afternoon, Wednesday, and Friday mornings. Results will be emailed to you after the completion of the sort.

  • Please email the CCG at ccg@uiowa.edu to schedule a time to run your samples. The staff requests at least one week advance notice of a planned sort. 
  • After scheduling time with staff, please submit sample submission form via email.
  • Please bring your sort prepped samples (see sort requirements link) to 236 Biology Building (BB) at your scheduled sort time. Any samples that are not prepped according to guidelines listed will not be run, and you will still be billed for time scheduled on the machine. 
  • Sorting yeast or bacteria and any requested aseptic sorts will require an aseptic cleaning procedure which will be included in the billing of your sort time.
  • All cancellations or rescheduling of booked runs must be done 24 hours in advance by emailing the CCG in order to not be charged for the scheduled sort time. Any cancellations or rescheduling made by CCG staff will not be charged to the user.
