Congratulations to Avery Hand, a Biology student (B.S. in Cell and Developmental Biology) in the Critical Competence Certificate program, on her recent accomplishment. Avery has been selected to present at the 2025 Social Justice Symposium at IU Indianapolis, an event that brings together scholars, activists, and thought leaders to discuss critical social issues and promote advocacy.

Avery’s presentation titled "Women, Healthcare, and Women in Healthcare", will explore the impact of the overturning of Roe v. Wade on reproductive health, particularly in the Midwest. As both a pre-med student and a woman navigating the healthcare system, she will share a unique and personal perspective on access to reproductive care and how women and allies can support one another.
