Three Department of Biology students who presented at the annual Summer Undergraduate Research Conference (SURC) held on the University of Iowa campus on July 30, 2025, were recognized for receiving a best poster award from the Iowa Sciences Academy (ISA). They are as follows:
2nd Place Overall Award: Riley McCoy, Biomedical Sciences major, “Mapping DRN 5-HT stimulated brain-wide activation patterns with chemogenetic iDISCO”
3rd Place Overall Award: Bhoomika Shettigar, Neuroscience major, “Refining Green Space Measurement: A Pipeline for Psychological Data”
Best “First Time Presenter” Award: Christina Yu, Neuroscience major, “Development of state-dependent visuomotor activity in infant rats”
