The Department of Biology’s first seminar of the spring semester is The 12th Raymond Fong Memorial Lecture on Friday, January 23, featuring Dakota (Cody) McCoy, as the speaker. Dr. McCoy is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology & Evolution at the University of Chicago and the Marine Biological Laboratory. Her seminar will be held at 3:30pm in Kollros Auditorium (Room 101), Biology Building East (BBE). The Graduate Student Steering Committee (GSSC) and Biology Professor Maurine Neiman are the hosts. Raymond Fong was a graduate student in the Department of Biological Sciences from 1986 to 1993. At the time of his death in July 1993, he was in the process of writing his thesis. The Raymond Fong Memorial Lecture was established to recognize the important contributions that all graduate students make to the scholarly life of the department, the university, and the scientific community.
