Several undergraduate students affiliated with the Department of Biology presented at the annual Summer Undergraduate Research Conference on Wednesday, July 30, 2025, on the University of Iowa campus.

Bin Z. HE has been promoted to Associate Professor of Biology effective July 1, 2025.

Abby Ryon, originally from Mount Pleasant, Iowa, graduated in Spring 2025 with a Bachelor of Science in Biology (Integrative Biology track) with Distinction, and was a member of Ana Llopart's lab in the Department of Biology where she studied the genetic basis of hybrid female sterility in fruit flies.
